Ingredients

  • 1 lb Basa fillets, cut into desired size

  • 1 cup cornstarch

  • 1 cup AP flour

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 2 teaspoons Pink Himalayan salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 cup beer (you can use your favorite kind)

  • High heat oil for frying

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix together the cornstarch, flour, paprika, turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper until well combined.

  2. Slowly pour in the beer while stirring continuously to create a smooth batter. Adjust the amount of beer as needed to achieve the desired consistency.

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan to 350 degrees F

  2. Dip each Basa fillet into your beer batter, making sure it is evenly coated.

  3. Carefully place the battered fillets into the hot oil, dropping them away from you to prevent burning, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side.

  1. Remove the fried fish from the oil and place them on a rack over a paper towel lined cookie sheet to drain any excess oil.

  2. Serve the crispy beer - battered fried fish hot with your favorite side or dipping sauce.

  3. Enjoy! Bon Appetite!
